Write a poem or story that uses the following title: But That’s Not My Name! BUT THAT'S NOT MY NAME I signed up for a lifetime of unbridled chaos when I tried to keep my maiden name after I got married! . I didn't have a single clue about what I was careening toward-- the confusion among our friends, the lectures from perfect strangers, the misunderstandings with family--I'm not even sure who I am. after all these years! And, what does it matter, anyway-- it's only my identity, after all! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ MY RESPONSE TO A REVIEW CLAIMING THAT I'M SAYING THAT MARIAGE HAS TAKEN AWAY MY IDENTITY: I'm glad for your take on the poem--I will rewriteit and see if I can make it say what I truly mean, or if I really secretly feel the way you have interpreted it after all.
