Urdu:  Koie din ger zindagaani aur hay
          Apnay ji maen hum nay thhaani aur hay

English:=== If a little bit longer I could be around
                  I'd leave this world with a mark profound
                                            -

Urdu:  Aatish e dozakh maen yeh germi kahaan
          Soaz e ghamha e nihaani aur hay

English:  Oh, the fire of hell cannot be so hot
              As the blaze of love in my heart I've got
                                              -

Urdu:  Baarha daekhi haen un ki ranjishaen
          Per kuchh ab ki sergaraani aur hay

English:=== Oh, many a times I have seen her mad
                  But so much fury she has never had
                                                -

Urdu:  Day kay khat munh daekhta ha naamaber
          Kuchh to paighaan e zabaani aur hay

English:=== And when her letter the courier brought
                  I wish I hadn't asked him what she thought
                                                -

Urdu:  Qaata e aamaar haen akser najoom
          Wo bala e aasmaani aur hay

English:=== The stars in heaven are all against me
                  And the fate is also my enemy
                                                  -

Urdu:  Ho chukeen GHALIB balaaen sub tamaam
          Aek merg e naagahaani aur hay

English:=== And, GHALIB, sorrow I can't have more
                  Now the angel of death I'm waiting for
