Timeless Love
A man is nostalgic about the romance with his wife he proposed as a guy.

Fifty nine years ago this very day,
I proposed you at nine o' clock under the starry sky.
Nine billion years later when Earth may have vanished,
my love for you would still be alive, it would never die.

I kept fighting with flowers; You love me, you love me not,
for it didn't take long; you took just nine days to reply!
Nine days, nine hours and nine minutes it took
for your yes to sink in; God I was on a high.

Things did fell into place, went precisely as planned,
but all that lasted for exactly ninety days.
Difference of opinions made us fall apart,
such a suffering to see us go separate ways.

Sometime later you called me; you said you had some news.
I thought this is it, you want to see me for the last time.
But the moment you held my hand close to your tummy,
I jumped with joy, I hugged you tight; yes I was on cloud nine.

Nine months was quite some wait to watch tiny eyes blossom,
even for nine minutes I didn't want to stay away.
Baby you made life happier than the heavens,
and it was the same until nine years back, everyday.

Thank you for everything, ours is the perfect love story,
forgive me for every wrong; I love you, I'm sorry.
Nine long years since you've gone, but I still miss you badly.
Wish you were here to celebrate our fifty ninth anniversary.
