It's six in the evening
and I'm at this uptown cafe. It's not new that I've reached first, 'cause it's always been this way. It's beginning to get boring, so to play a game I decide, I tell myself to count till hundred, and you'll be here by my side. The countdown has begun, and I count from one to ten. I finally reach ninety nine when, I start from one all over again. I try to search for you, in every passing car, though I know you'll come walking, your home's not that far. My feet are tapping hard, eyes dying to see your face, baby they're scanning for your sight, all around the place. I know you love doing this, 'cause you know I just hate to wait. You know this is the fiftieth time, you've set the record straight? I've ordered for so much, at least a dozen mugs you'll see . Seems the entire world was at the table, to have coffee with me. Now what excuse do you have? Don't tell me it's bad weather. Even the flowers I got for you, have started to wither. It's beyond the time we agreed upon, now I can't take it anymore, My heart is beating with the speed of light, something it did never before. I avoid looking at the watch, 'cause I fear something a lot. What if you don't remember? What if you forgot? I know you must've had some work, and it would take you hours maybe. I can wait for eons my love, just keep loving me back baby.
