A space ship crashes into a field in England.

This is the story of that night and the cover up and advance of technology that followed.

James awoke with a start to a large crashing sound outside. It had been a stormy night so he thought that something close must have been hit by lightning. He moved over to the window watching as bright flashes of light lit up his curtains while the sound of thunder echoed across the land. Opening the curtains he realised something strange was happening as all the lightning strikes were hitting the same point in a field just a few miles away. The strangest part of this was that the tallest point was just a few feet away from where the ground was being bombarded with electricity yet it never got hit once.

"What the hell is going on?" he thought to himself. "Why is the lightning hitting the ground and not the pylon? What is attracting it to that spot?"

Something metallic caught his eye, an object darting about erratically in the night sky, its focus seemingly on the spot where the lightning was continuing to vent its fury. James watched the object as it moved dodging the lightning as it did so, its focus never seeming to move from that one spot. As he watched James picked up the phone and dialled 999 asking for the fire brigade.

Dave awoke the sound of the fire bell ringing. Looking round at the other beds he saw the rest of Red Watch do the same and they all jumped out of bed simultaneously. They all make their way down to the engines; Dave grabs the call printout on his way. "Looks like a big one, all engines required. Multiple reports of an object crashing into a field. Object on fire." He told the crew as they quickly put on their kit.
Red watch jumped into the engines and putting on their lights and sirens headed straight to the scene.

"What is that thing? What it the pilot thinking, getting that close to the lightning? He must be mad" Just as he finished thinking he saw the object dart off and vanish as flames started emanating from the field. The storm continued to rage for the rest of the night its fury never relenting. The flames raged even after the fire brigade arrived at the scene. James stood at his window watching the fire fighters as they tried to get close to the fire giving up on their attempts after an hour because of the constant lightning. As he watched his mind turned its focus on what he had seen and was still witnessing outside.

"What is causing the lighting to be aiming at this one spot?" he thought. "Could it have something to do with that object that was flying around earlier? Was it a UFO?" James’s mind started thinking about what the answers to his questions might be and came up with the hypothesis. "A UFO that had been flying over the area must have got caught in the storm and was hit by the lightning causing it to crash to the ground in the field where the lighting continued to hit it. Its hull must be made of some highly attractive material causing the lightning’s strange behaviour. The craft that was flying around must have been looking for the crashed one and realising it could not help and could end up the same left the scene."

James moved away from the window, walked over to his computer and turned it on. Sitting down at his desk he started typing, writing down everything he had seen over the past few hours. When he finished typing he pressed the post button under the text box, turned off the computer, then laid back on his bed. Still thinking about what he had witnessed he fell asleep.

A black car turned the corner drove a short distance down a residential street before coming to a stop outside an ordinary looking detached house. The doors opend and two men dressed in black suits got out and walked up the driveway of the house they had pulled up outside of.

James awoke to a loud knocking on his front door. Loking over to his clock and seing it was just 7am he thought to him self "who could that be at this time of the morning?" Sitting up he stretched and yawned just as there was another loud knock on the door. "I'm comming, I'm Comming" he said out loud as he quickly pulled on some clothes, heading to the door as he did so, nearly loosing his balance on his way, he just avoided falling down the stairs.

Lifting his hand to the door, the tallest of the two men whent to knock again. Just as his hand tapped the door it opened.
