As the jet engines screeched to a steady stop,
I was anxious to get down after a dreary flight.
although the aircraft was no longer moving
the terminal still seemed out of sight.

I yawned and stretched out as I got down,
I seemed to have woken up from a deep slumber.
What was startling that my mind was just blank,
there was nothing I could remember.

The light was dim as if it were dawn,
there was an intense fog all around.
I thought the flight had lost its way and made
an emergency landing downtown.

Soon I saw clouds sweeping my feet,
although I couldn't see any visible ground.
The freeze had made me stiff as a statue,
the silence in the air was so profound.

Suddenly I recalled the plane rolling fiercely,
it didn't land safe but had nosedived instead.
The moment I touched down on Mother Earth,
I was no longer an earthling, I was dead.
