As the jet engines screeched to a steady stop, I was anxious to get down after a dreary flight. although the aircraft was no longer moving the terminal still seemed out of sight. I yawned and stretched out as I got down, I seemed to have woken up from a deep slumber. What was startling that my mind was just blank, there was nothing I could remember. The light was dim as if it were dawn, there was an intense fog all around. I thought the flight had lost its way and made an emergency landing downtown. Soon I saw clouds sweeping my feet, although I couldn't see any visible ground. The freeze had made me stiff as a statue, the silence in the air was so profound. Suddenly I recalled the plane rolling fiercely, it didn't land safe but had nosedived instead. The moment I touched down on Mother Earth, I was no longer an earthling, I was dead. Written for the "Daily Prompt Contest" on the lines of the following word prompt. Your airplane lands and when you disembark, you realize you're not at your intended destination. 9:16 p.m October 15th, 2009
