What a Night
My heart pounded through my chest, knocking on the asphalt. A large rugged boot firmly pressed down the right side of my face, awkwardly on the curb. The gun’s barrel was cold; the muggers’ hearts, colder. They took my wallet first, my phone, then the engagement ring. I was supposed to propose to her tonight.
