COULDN'T RESIST!

I am a cheeky little runt, the smallest of my herd,
and when I am squawking out loud, no one can hear a word!!
I am a tiny little girl--and only half-sized cat,
but when I put my mind to it, I sure can be a BRAT!!
My life is spent at the window watching the long day pass--;.
today when I took my first look, an ELF flew past the glass.
I just could not resist the fun--I asked her in to play,
because excitement misses me--not much can come my way!!
When she came in she was shaking from flying past our Dog!
He is as big as a small car, and snorts just like a hog!!
She wanted to hide out from him, to stay out of his sight
and asked me please to help her hide, until the warm sunlight
had gone away and night had come to cover up her tracks.
I helped her hide until sunset, when she'd jump into cracks
she'd found in the earth's atmosphere--said that was where she stayed,
but until she left me that night, we laughed and ran and played!
I couldn't resist thoughts of fun with one as small as she!
I'm used to playing with big cats--they're grouchy as can be!!
