The Seagul And The Sailor I heard the rifles loud report as a sailor's laid to rest a seagull circles overhead, soaring toward the west. He served his country bravely, always did what he was told, a fighter with the strongest will, a heart full of love to hold. Taps were playing quietly over this hallowed ground, the only thing that was stirring was a seagull circling round. A man who loved his family and taught them all he could, he helped them through the rough times as a carpenter crafts his wood. Now he's overcome the hardships for his heart was always true as the sailor and the seagull soar on into the blue. T.L.Finch
