Urdu:  Aa keh meri jaan ko qaraar naheen hay
          Taaqat e baidaad e intazaar naheen hay

English:=== O come and put my heart at ease
                  And don't make me wait forever please
                                            -

Urdu:  Daetay haen jannat hayaat e dehr kay badlay
          Nasha ba andaaza e khumaar naheen hay

English:=== The wine in heaven, it may be divine
                  But if it can't get drunk, why drink the wine?
                                              -

Urdu:  Girya nikaalay hay teri bazm say mujh ko
          Ha'ay keh ronay pay ikhtiaar naheen hay

English:=== In her salon she doesn't want me to cry
                  But how do I keep my eyes dry?
                                              -

Urdu:  Hum say abas hay gumaan e ranjish e khaatir
          Khaak maen ushshaq ki ghubaar naheen hay

English:=== She always say I get her upset
                  But that she's sensitive, I always forget
                                              -

Urdu:  Dil say uthha lutf e jalwaha e maani
          Ghair e gul bahaar naheen hay

English:=== And when I see the flowers in the spring
                  They make me forget about everything
                                                -

Urdu:  Qatl ka meray kiya hay ahd toe baaray
          Wa'ay ager ahd ustawaar naheen hay

English:=== To take my life she has promised to come
                  But before she comes, I'm going to succumb
                                                  -

Urdu:  Too nay qasam maikashi ki khaaie hay GHALIB
          Taeri qasam ka kuchh aetabaar naheen hay

English:=== And, GHALIB, she says she'll drink with me
                  But to change her mind she's absolutely free
