There is a divine madness,
a searching for life's answers.
It drives these thoughts, these words
from the corners of my soul.
Forcing me to think of fate
and the inequality it holds.
The reasons for these hardships,
define the meaning of our lives.
There is but one way into this world
and one way to the heavens above.
Between both awaits a full life
of hope and pain, loss and love.
And we stare blindly at the abyss
knowing someday we will reside there.
Dark as night in the desert,
and as cold as the naked ground.
What exists is this nightfall
with the blackness all around.
We fear the deep darkness
which we cannot comprehend.
So turn away from the night
towards what you know to be true.
Live as if you were a light
shining for others to view.
All we can do is trust
in what we do here and now.
Trust in your heart to do right
and hold those you love close by.
but don't shut out the others,
when you haven't looked through eyes.
Trust in ourselves to live,
to find love, and to embrace it.
Follow your conscience, your soul
in everything that you do.
Love is that which fosters joy
in those all around you.
To live in love with one another
and with the world that surrounds us.
