Cherokee Rose On their journey in the winter They lost sight, The Chiefs prayed for hope and strength. Wherever a tear dropped grew a rose in color of white White for the purity of tears, Center of gold for the riches taken from their land, Seven petals for the seven tribes of the Cherokee that made this long painful journey The mothers gained strength to tend their children The Cherokee gained hope from this miracle Of the Cherokee Rose
