Halloween!
A Poem for the Prompt "Haunted"

HALLOWEEN!

These haunted hours,
Like this season of the year,
Reminds me more than any other,
That beyond our world
There lurks another.

Which, to our peril, we mock.
Dismissing things eerie as silly.
While foes feared for generations walk,
At will among the living.

And, who has not
Fumbled in the dark?
Seeking a candle or a light.
To chase away some shadow,
That made us
Tremble in the night.

So, in these haunted hours,
I seek out a Greater Power.
That swirls ‘round me like a storm.
And protects me till the morn!
