When I met Myself..

I was feeling doomed, dreary and dejected;
when I had this rendezvous with an old friend.
It would be a beautiful journey, said she,
though a little challenging and long;
I invite you with open arms to join me,
just tell me, would you come along?
At times you may feel weak and tired
Just keep in mind, you have to keep going.
Have faith in yourself, she went on,
And see your strength growing.
I liked what she said and had a silent
admiration for her optimism.
All this time I wondered ;
what took me so long to meet the real “me”…
