behind doors
a poem about finding what i wanted in the least likly spot

among the many doors in the hall
some locked, some unchecked
among the many doors in the hall
i found one hidden behind a bookcase

as i explored behind many doors
i found that i did not like those rooms
filled with the aroma of impurity and decay
i shut the door faster than i opened

many times i've checked rooms
who's doors are appealing
those are the rooms with the vile stench
never judge a book by its cover

but this room behind the bookcase
the grass is greener than what i've seen
filled with an aroma and purity
that i've only seen in my dreams

i never once thought to check the bookcase
i never thought until i lost hope
lost hope of finding a welcoming home
a home where i can be safe

i got a look at the room behind the bookcase
after awhile i was asked to leave
told to come back later
so the room can prepare itself for me
