“Why do this to me”
By: Joseph Michael Webb
October 22, 2009
You abandoned me here in this lucid plain of existence
For a pitiful unknown reason that I cannot discern
There were three of us here, now I’m left alone
Why do this to me, have you no love for me?
I loved you both with such an unparalleled passion
But now? Look at what you have reduced me to!
Was I truly that horrible of a brother to you?
Why do this to me, have you no love for me?
You took your weapons of choice against yourselves
Left a mother weeping and a father stuck in shock
And I? I am led away to insanity’s narrow doorstep
Why do this to me, have you no love for me?
Did you really gain so much in doing this to everyone?
Anger perturbs and grows with each passing day
Grief and pain are all I can allow myself to feel
Why do this to me, have you no love for me?
I can’t stand to see myself hating you for eternity
So give me an epiphany! Give me something to hold
I love you both with such an unparalleled passion
Why do this to me, have you no love for me?
Maybe your pain was just too great for this world
Is it possible that society has let you both down?
Perhaps this calamity isn’t about my life at all?
This isn’t because of me; you will always love me…
