Desert light dances
Trims cactus golden by day Paints the skies kaleidoscopic Then follows with star studded velvet. Desert fauna delights Hummingbirds glitter and zip Snakes with jeweled skin slither Lizards do push-ups on rocks. Mountains change hourly Their harsh, jagged peaks Split by deep narrow canyons Shadowed blues and purples. Dry air wafts sweat away Cools quickly in the evening And most importantly, Sends tourists packing.
