Yes, you are crazy. 100k in one month? What were you thinking? And three novels? If I didn't know better I'd think you were taking something that affected this decision, but don't worry, I know you didn't. And now you have the responsibility of your group, which the members have already proven to be a bit pester-some when it comes to you posting or adding. They will require your attention on a regular basis. But it will all be worth it.
The group is a great example of how this year will be different and amazing. It started off as a simple idea, created not that long ago with just the support of a couple of friends. They joined and then it sat. Then the forum was created and the membership survey. Things took off from there. SM advertised it, which was awesome. But even better was seeing SM talk about the group in a different forum, telling someone the reason for putting it in the email. It has all been very flattering. To have others think your ideas are great and that you are capable is a good reason to see that you can be successful with your goals. Others have faith in you too.
This year, you are prepared. For the difficult novel that counts in NaNoWriMo, you did the prep work. Even though your mom was supposed to give more input on the characters, plot and setting, you have pulled together information on a novel that is not your usual style. You have done a romance novel before and this will involve less erotica but will span a long enough time that you'll be able to reach 50k. The other two are novels you are excited about. There is the very different in tone, Blood Prophesy, with the female main character. Even if they resemble vampires a little bit, it will be okay because you know how to make it unique. Fallen is one you have loved for awhile and despite other people thinking it won't work, you have found joy in working on it. You love the two characters and will enjoy telling the tale as they fall in love with each other.
But you can't let yourself get too distracted. The group is one place where it will be difficult because it is necessary to take part in the forums and such. Will take time to manage and keep things going. But don't let that group take away from your writing time. It will be more encouraging for the group members to know you are writing as well than to have you post more often but not write. Don't forget to do your homework! Last year, you finished with over 50k but barely passed a news writing class for the teacher who used to be the boss when you were a reporter. Will only have two weeks of classes at least, and they are both online. The other distraction will be the wonderful boyfriend. He should be writing too and you can't let him get away with not writing or distracting you too much. But don't ignore him either. You love him and that is great. He will be your support and cheer you on as you write 100k this year.
You can do this! You will do this! You are awesome and will succeed in your goals. This year if you win you will get to buy yourself something from the nanowrimo store, a t-shirt or something else depending on what they have. You also will get a small break, because you will deserve it. Rest will be a welcome treat after a month of writing.
November 30th is going to be a great; one of celebration as you reach the 100,000 mark.
