Winter's bite
Love lost...

Winter's bite.

As crystals form on the window today,
I see the changes coming.

The silent wave of cold dark nights,
and the memory of an ancient loving.

I wonder is this a dream I have,
or a glimse of a life I once knew.

The loneliness I feel this season,
a winters bite so new.

The snow will drift and the winds will blow,
no longer catching my eye.

For she's no longer at my side you see,
in an adjacent room her interests lie.

The books she reads take her away,
to some other man or some other day.

Crystals formed on the window today,
or have they formed in my heart sending her away.
