Kisses soft and tender, words spoken from the heart, I’m left with these memories now that we’re apart. Many days together rerunning through my mind. I miss you so, my darling. Life can be unkind. I took it for granted that I would go first. I never did imagine it would be reversed. Your illness was sudden. It took me by surprise. I thought you would recover. I told myself lies. This house is now empty. The quiet seems to shout. Loneliness is deafening. It’s you I’m without! Our life was so perfect! Finding you—It was fate! I’ll never love another. You were my soul mate. I sit here with regrets of things we’ll never share. For you there’s no tomorrow. I’m left with despair. I know we’ll meet again in Heaven some sweet day. Reunited then we’ll be, when time’s washed away. ‘Til then I will miss you, your lovely smile and face. But, I’ll have sweet memories with me in this place. 36 lines
