He’s in school for fashion Both Happiest and Saddest Moments: Happiest – when he finished high school and moved into his first apartment. Saddest – coming out to his parents, when it wasn’t well received. What is this character's major goal? -he’s looking for love. Looking to find someone like him, who he can be close to. Everything else comes second to this. Why is this goal so important to this character? -because he needs to believe that even though he’s gay he’s capable of being loved. He needs to feel that its not wrong, to be gay. One thing that’s going to be hard to over come in the way he looks at other gay men; with the same loathing that he looks at himself with. Are there any events in the character's past that affect the significance of this goal? -when he came out to is parents they did not receive it well. Both of his parents were horrible about it, told him that he was just going through a ‘rough patch’ and that he was trying to rebel. They told him if he was caught with a boy he would be kicked from the house, which was exactly what happened. Describe your characters life till now, motivations, family situation--anything that comes to you: -lived a very pampered lifestyle. Always had money or anything he needed when he needed it. -he came out to his parents and was badly received. -finished high school two years later than everyone else he knew. What is the one thing in the world your character would do anything to avoid? Why? What has he already done to avoid this? What do you see him doing in the future to avoid it? -the one thing Charlie would avoid is telling people he’s gay. He won’t say it out loud. He doesn’t mind if people see him making out with a man or flirting, but he has a problem saying ever since he came out to his parents. He always does and will always do the same thing. Tell people by showing them. The only person he came right out and told was Stella. What is the one thing in the world your character would do anything in the world to have? Why? What has he already done to try to obtain it? What does he hope to try in the future? -love. He looks for love in all the wrong places, sleeping with random men and messing around with them. All of these men just treat him like a whore, which he eventually takes advantage of and keeps hoping that something will change, that someone will make him the exception and not treat him that way.
