Thoughts of the Heart

Thoughts drift in and out of my mind.
Hard to pin these thoughts of mine.
I would love to live with you while I heal;
would it be possible?; is it a done deal?

I would not take up much space in the barn.
That would give me time to produce a yarn.
Healing would be in Gods time and his place.
Being round you would be like bathing in his grace.

A swim at 5; break at 6; coffee and then a talk;
would be a daily norm, if this were not written in chalk.
To make it ink, one would have to agree wholeheartedly,
that you and I would be compatible, symbiotically.

Weaving each others time and tempo of life.
it would be easy to call you my wife.
You offer so much and carry none.
Look at me, how can I be the one?

Separated and broken, in truth almost busted,
after 16 years of marriage, cannot be trusted.
No home, no securities, no sense of dignity.
He writes in darkest times to lose his self pity.

For it is there he ponders the worlds ambiguity,
because there he receives the most sympathy.
So don't go and give your heart without a sieve,
to guard against the one heart who could not give.
