See-Sawing Between Settling and Unsettling

Un-Settling

Settling:
I often hear,
"It is what it is",
and "You don’t know,
what you’ve got,
until it is gone".

Unsettling:
To make it clear,
let me just say this,
I will not throw,
my hopes out,
No,I am not done.

Settling:
Stuck in ruts,
in so much pain.
I hid behind,
their big shadow,
not me anymore.

Unsettling:
I have the guts,
to try again.
I can find,
the me I know,
better than before.

Settling:
No! It’s unfair!
This need to belong,
to another one first.
Now I’m forever stuck,
and wasting all my gifts.

Unsettling:
Go! It’s out there!
Dance to a new song,
Me and the universe.
Goodbye and good luck,
and now the darkness lifts.
