Shadows
I wrote this short piece when, I realized that even in the darkness there is still hope

Child is born with no ideals or beliefs.......

Teen is burdened with trivial knowledge and angst.......

Man is left alone to ponder the mysteries of the universe.....

What a day it would be when our own shadows cast no shade, no poised or positioned enemies, no regrets and hardships.......

The greatest darkness known to any is the shadow of ones self. the colors of life all fall bleak and wearily to the wayside, in every step the uncertainty of another day

I leave you with this grim reminder, as our shadow grows longer, our days grow shorter.....

So fear not what lurks in the darkness, for death may be within, but look ahead to the glory of a new day and maybe, just maybe, the sun will shift and your shadow will no longer lead the way, but mark the ground where you have treaded fearlessly like a lion, and left only the shade unadmired.
