Tread Softly

Nan, please tread softly.
The sun bears brightly down on you.
Your clothes shimmer white.
Your heart is now pure.

Away from us, your family,
take those many steps to the gate;
one for the grandchildren,
two for the children,
three for the husband

Tread softly, for a new world waits.
Be safe for us now, your family,
as you are, float above us into the sky,
watching and waiting with the others.

So please tread softly,
and soar.
