To a Friend
I wrote this for a good friend of mine, she's going through tough emotions.

Don't you see?
He wants you to fall for him.
Just so he can hurt you.
He wants to make you look obsessive.
His malign body is coaxing benign metaphors of paradoxes.
Like Judas, he shall betray you once.

I know how you felt for him,
but I doubt he felt the same.
He's being nice to you now, he ain't ignoring you.
He used to ignore you, forget you ever existed.
What changed?
His intentions changed.

You're eloquent, elegant.
You're beautiful, pretty.
Any guy would be blessed to even know you.
But he had your heart, and he abused it in the end.
Who knows, he may come back around.
Who knows, he put you down.
I'm hurting, seeing you like this.
Even though you say it's on the mend.
Healing wounds have a way of getting wounded again, much worse than before.

In your eyes, I see you're melancholy.
I can't stand you like that.
I tried to help a friend like that last year,
she said it made it worse.
If I make you feel worse, tell me.
I'm always here for you.
So are many others.

You're like a bird with a broken wing.
You try to soar high, but you keep coming down.
I don't know what to say, half the time.
I think I know what to say, part of the time.
I hope I give good words to you.
God is great, God is good,
don't do what you think, do what you should.

Love is eternal, if an end comes, it ain't love.
Love is eternal, if an end never comes, call it love.
