And all through the house…

'Twas Christmas Eve and not a creature was stirring,
Cause... the house was on fire and they were all burning.

The house was alive with a roaring inside,
The fire was surging like an ocean tide.

The windows had blown from there panes on this night,
The blasting of glass oh!... what a beautiful sight.

The flames swallowed the turkey on the dining room table,
The father to carve the bird...was now quite unable.

Charcoal coloring now plastering the walls,
From ashes that danced Merrily Merrily down the halls.

The childrens cries echoed through the manor,
Heat rising from below torching the holiday banner.

A mother’s call to her children unheard,
Her offspring on the floor no better than the bird.

So...Lest the season go down as a loss,
into the fire...the cat we did toss.
