Darkness Comes
A darker piece of poetry.

Darkness Comes

I stare into the future finally certain
Everything around me a blur
I feel the noose tighten
The clock ticks

Every heartbeat brings me closer
It will be more than welcome
The bile rises within
Blood goes cold

The fear grips my tortured soul
I just want to escape
Please let me go
My eyes close

Just one little step to end it
The release that I seek
Inch my foot closer
The chair drops

The pain is actually exquisite
My body fights against it
It finally starts to still
The light fades

***Please note I have no intention on committing suicide. I was in a dark mood and this is what I ended up writing, but this is not my reality and I am not going to hang myself.***
