Candy Coated Lies
Those candy coated lies you feed me taste so bittersweet. You've played your hand with expertise and swept me off my feet. You say "I got your back babe" But I'm just not so sure. The second that I turn from you You've kicked me to the floor. That crooked smile you wear so well is losing its effect. You say we've only just began But it sure as hell aint finished yet. Stormy waters draw me in, My will begins to fade I'm caught against your undertow Waiting to be saved. Man the lifeboats Sail for shore Lead me to dry land. Give me strength to carry on Please take me by the hand. No matter how you push me now, Or try to pull me down One day I'll reach the surface babe And turn your perfect world around. © Rebecca Bowden. All Rights Reserved.
