final judgment
Does the judgment have to be made?

He always had this feeling when he went into the judging room. Always had the feeling that he missed some reason for him to be wrong. He always wished he would be wrong. It was always the same however, he would investigate and find no impressive results forcing him to come to the judging room and give them the same story of how there wasn’t any evidence of intelligent life so they could destroy the species and start to inhabit the planet.

He hated this newly found planet the most. Everybody had hoped this would be the exception to the on going trend that had been going on since they found there first planet. They saw the structures from outside the atmosphere. The species had some differences but nothing promising enough to keep them alive. Just fuck seekers doing whatever it takes to make sure they get their hour long satisfaction. The worst part was they had technological advances that seconded only to them. Why couldn’t they be different? Why couldn’t they get past their wild sex obsession to discover the real things. It was to late for them though, why didn’t they discovered it sooner?

The judges came in the same way they always do, four tall skinny figures floating down from the ceiling making his stomach twist into knots. He hated the way they always stared at him with their disappointed eyes. Hoping he’d bring news of on going intelligence at the recently discovered planet always to be disappointed. He hated his job…

“Step down.” Said the first judge. He hated him the most. With his beady eyes staring into in his fucking skull, praying for good news. It always made him want to throw up. “What have you found on planet 465?”

“Higher intelligent then most we’ve seen, they have vast communications and transportation abilities.”

“So your saying they need not be destroyed?”

Are you crazy you fuckhead hopeful?

“No, even though they show great strides in technology they are still a primitive species. They only want to reproduce, they still have theological beliefs  making them feel a need to conquer their “Less fortunate” neighbors. They are easily provoked into doing the irrational. They cannot unite as a species so it is highly doubtful we can unite without them having secret desires of conquering us or fear making them destroy us.”

“So is there no hope for them? Can they not be taught to be civil and help us prosper?”

“They fear the unknown causing them to strike it, a select handful of the species should be saved preserved and with our guidance repopulate,  but the species as a population is more primitive then any other species we’ve seen on our 5,000 year exploration.”

“So your suggesting we keep a select few?”

“10-12 max.”

“And this is your final judgment?”

“Yes.”

“Then it is decided, planet 465’s species will be eradicated except for a handful of its population. Court dismissed.”

He sat by the window of the vast ship Mencari staring at the planet he had just condemned to genocide.

He knew she was worried by the way she was walking.

“Are you ok?” She asked.

“This  Species had so much potential, I wish it didn’t have to be destroyed.”

“Well when we get rid of them we can settle there and be happy. Planet 465 is one of the prettiest planets I’ve seen. What do you think they will call it when we start to populate?”

“Hopefully they will keep it the same as the ones before called it…

Earth.”
