Does this blurb and cover make you want to take the book home?
For three years the small Kansas town on Kennebec had enough population to warrant its own pioneer post office. But one October night the town completely disappeared, post office and all; in a bright blue light seen as far north as Russell. All that remains to this day are the faded earthen footprints of the town’s buildings seen only from the sky.
Why did such a blooming and successful mining and farming town vanish without a trace leaving only a mere handful of survivors? A school teacher, a few of her female students and a lone Indian boy were all that was left to tell the tale, stricken dumb by their experience, it was a story no one knew until now.
