Two thousand years
or so have passed
since Christ was crucified.
He suffered there
upon the cross
and for our sins He died.

This perfect man
who knew no sin
hung there on Calvary,
and I am washed
by His own blood.
He died to set me free.

I’m thankful that
Christ loved even me.
A sinner who’s
not worthy, don’t you see?
It was by God’s own plan,
Christ came here as a man,
knowing He’d die
for you and me.

I was a lost
and wretched soul
but, Jesus took me in.
No one but Christ
could ever love
the hopeless man I’d been.

He gave me a
new lease on life,
now I am Heaven bound.
I’ll live with Him
Eternally.
I was lost; now, I’m found.

I’m thankful that
Christ loved even me.
A sinner who’s
not worthy, don’t you see?
It was by God’s own plan,
Christ came here as a man,
knowing He’d die
for you and me.
