Lamplight Sonnet
A poem about finding wisdom through insight and knowledge.

Oh lonely lamplight, a guide of lost souls,
You await travelers without a course,
To give brief warmth as would a fire's coals.
The seekers search out your alluring source.

But fools cannot see your subtle fire,
They look down the dark path and find a void.
With blind eyes they find themselves in deep mire,
Fouled in mud, you are now one hordes avoid.

The journey is onerous to find you,
But in disparate eyes it proves fluent.
Heedless; the path is the same to and through,
In which one must not drown but be buoyant.

For the few who fathom the prudent glow;
Wisdom will compose melody, and flow.
