 NEXT Halloween
The things a budding superhero has to put up with...

He was supposed to be saving the world, leaping tall buildings and such.  Instead, Julian was sitting idle, slouched in his bean bag chair, impatiently waiting while his parents sifted through his trick-or-treating haul "for his own safety".  He hoped there would still be enough goodies left to activate his super powers...They were health nuts, those two.  Halloween was merely an irritant for them, an excuse to make Mr. Hershey or Mr. M&M, or whoever, a million more bucks.

They fumbled unceremoniously through his sugar-saturated abundance.  "You've got way too much candy here.  You couldn't finish all of this before next Halloween."

Julian rolled his eyes.  What they didn't understand was just how much fuel was required for fighting crime.  They saw a fat kid in a superhero suit--fake muscles, a cape that was too short, the letter "W" printed in shiny letters across the chest...With the right proportion of sugary goodness, however, those muscles were energized, that cape was ingeniously designed to assist Julian in flight without the danger of getting snagged, and that "W"...well, it had just come with the suit.  The point being, his parents hadn't a clue as to the importance of that candy.  He'd show them, though.  As soon as they were done going through it, he would demonstrate his eye-popping abilities.

"Julian!  Here you go.  Don't eat it all at once, Dear.  OK?"

He'd show them, alright.  As soon as the bad guys showed up.  As soon as he finished eating all of his well earned take.
