I have a pet ogre. Do you?

My pet ogre is very tall and has a spiky face, and he even has hairs on the back of his hands and feet. I sometimes pluck them and he gets very annoyed.

In the summer time he lives mostly in the garden shed, and in the winter time we let him live indoors with me, my sister and my mummy.

Sometimes, my pet ogre is nice. He tickles me and lets me sit on his lap. And sometimes he puts me to bed and reads me a story. He even plays ball with me and buys me cakes when mummy isn’t around. But mummy tells my pet ogre off for doing this, and when she does my pet ogre just smiles and winks at me.

Sometimes he’s very naughty indeed. He shouts at me for not doing as I am told, but I tell him that if he shouts at me again I shall put him on the naughty step. He then gives me a stern look. He is so naughty sometimes. He doesn’t let me and my sister watch our television programmes. Instead we have to watch his.

My pet ogre isn’t very clever. When I ask him a very important question he mostly says ‘I don’t know’. I asked him why the moon was up in the sky, and he told me he didn’t know, so I had to tell him that it was up in the sky because it needed to look down on all of us and being in the sky was the best place to see everything.

My pet ogre is quite the laziest ogre too. When i get up in the mornings, he is still asleep so I have to wake him up by jumping on him and shouting at him to get out of bed. But this just seems to make him grumpy. So I tell him that if he went to bed earlier he won’t be as grumpy because he would have had enough sleep. But he isn’t very good at taking advice.

When my pet ogre is poorly sick, he doesn’t do anything at all. All he does is sit around the house wrapped up in a blanket feeling very sorry for himself. He also hogs the sofa so no one else can sit on it.

I have a pet ogre. Sometimes he is god, sometimes he is naughty. Sometimes he is funny, and sometimes he is grumpy. No matter what he is, he always looks after me, and for that I love him.
