Mia Wilder- Mia and her ancestors have been living in Groverhill since the Civil War and as far as Mia could tell it hadn't changed much since then either. That is until a pair of missionaries move into town with their adopted children. Strange things have been happening to her ; her bestfriend has turned pyscho, her teachers seem scared of her,  the male species is acting uber wierd around her, and every pair of of flip flops she owns seems to have disappered. Now she must get the bottom of these strange events before she her whole world turns upside down.

Sabrina Monchier-  It was supposed to be her best year of high school. She was having a great soccer season, her boyfriend wasn't going through his boy moods, and she was class secretary. Nothing could ruin her perfect year. WRONG. Sabrina meets the Whestcher kids that moved into Groverhill and suddenly has competition from the oldest Whestcher girl. Despite Mia's warnings she gets more and more competitive she starts becoming something she never imagined...

MIA WILDER

" I always read the last page of a book first so that if I die before I can finish the book, I'll know how it turned out."- Nora Ephron

                                                          Chapter 1

Mia Wilder felt the drop of sweat drip down her forehead as the sun beamed harshly down on her olive skin. Her waves were unraveling in her pony tail and pieces of thin hair were poking out at every direction. She was sweating so bad that her white and black soccer uniform was sticking to every curve on her body . She swore . All she could think of was getting the stupid uniform off in the locker room. She hunched over to rest her hands on her knees and  her chest ached so hard that she was just trying not to throw up on herself. Only five laps left to go she thought tiredly to herself.

"Hey are you awlright??"

Mia looked over her shoulder to see one of her best friends Sabrina Monchier looking down at her. Like a southern Repunzal, Sabrina had long golden locks that reached the end of her back, but it was held in a sloppy bun that was falling out of place. Her mint green eyes gleamed and sparkled against the sun and the rays reflected of the grey speckled in her eyes.  They seemed so godess like compared to Mia's dark brown eyes that seemed almost black. Unlike Mia's freckles that were splattered randomly throughout her body , Sabrina's freckles were placed carefully in different spots on the surface of her cheeks, arms, and neck.

" Yeah, I'm okay. I've got like 5 laps to go and I feel like their are little midgets inside my head and stomach punching me continuously, but yeah, I'm okay." Mia spilled out quickly adding a forced smile at the end. Sabrina raised her eyebrow before extending her hand out to her bestfriend. Mia took the hand, lazily pushing her body wieght up.

"Come on. I'll run the extra five miles with you." She said picking off a piece of grass off Mia's shoulder and patting it. Mia dramatically sighed as the two began to run.

"That's what you get for playing around on the field."  Sabrina said in a playful sing-songy voice. Mia sighed as she lazily stuck her tounge out. While the couch went to talk to one of his male soccer players, Mia took it upon herself to turn on her ipod and hook it up to the stereo in her bag. From there, instead of doing suicides like she was supposed to she was dancing from cone to cone, starting a soul train as each girl went through. Needless to say the whole team got 10 laps while Mia was punished to 20.

"Hey, Do you think it's possible for boys to p.m.s ?" Sabrina asked. Her hair was threatening to bounce out it's scrunchy, as it wacked against Mia's shoulder. Mia tried to focus on the question.

" Umm.. Sure I think so.. Every guy i've dated has. They go through those wierd boy moods. It's ridiculous. Why is Josh going through them again?? "  Mia chuckled. Sabrina might have had an almost perfect boyfriend, but his "boy moods" were to much for Mia's taste. Josh was jealous and moody and it was aggravating to Sabrina because of how stubborn both him and herself were and aggravating to Mia because she was the one who had to witness it.

"Well, After Thursday's game at Cottondale we were fine and then Mike came up to me, because he was in town."

"Oh boy, That must have been fun." Mia said as they exchanged looks at one another.

"That's the thing, Josh actually wasn't jealous at ah'll!  He smiled at Mike and shook his hand. It was really creepy."

"Do you think he just got over being jealous?"

"Ah don't know!!!" Sabrina said shrugging.

"Speaking of wierd boy moods, Have you seen Robbie??" Mia said slowing her pace to a fast walk.

"You didn't hear??" Sabrina said in a low voice.

"No. " Mia said furrowing her brows.  Sabrina stopped in her tracks, with Mia following.

" GIRLS HIT THE SHOWERS!!! WILDER LET ME CATCH YOU MESSING AROUND AGAIN AND IT'LL BE 30 LAPS AROUND THE SCHOOL" Coach Wilbur, a Mark Walburg wannabe, screamed from the weight room. The vain in his neck seemed to pulsate as if it was trying to break free of his tight leather skin.

"Yes sir!!" Mia yelled.

"I COULD NOT HEAR YOU WILDER!!"

"YES SIR!!!"

"HIT THE SHOWERS !!"

"YES SIR!!"

"Who says that anymore??" Sabrina whispered to Mia as the two ran behind the rest of the two to the locker rooms.
