My Heart Pounds with Joy
        by Tim Chiu  (mirtx@Writing.Com)
Like an earthquake miles away,
My heart so longs for expression –
The details vanish and somehow stay
In my lonely apprehension.

I stand bemused by lofty goals,
As folks recite their chorus,
But shoes from walking lose their soles,
And I can’t find my focus.

But help is just a prayer of hope,
As flocks fly south up high.
With God’s grace, I can certainly cope;
His shining light close by.

Forgive my duty, for such a dream
Is set for weighty demise,
For all imagine what may seem
The likeliest plan to surmise.

My heart beats proud with glorious strength,
A resounding, heartfelt joy,
For God has blessed me at great length,
A lesson to enjoy!
