First Love's Heartbeat
A short poem about that first love

The beating
of a first loved heart
The blush
of a girl's first embrace
The smile
that stretches past the sky
The feeling
of flying, gliding, dancing, soaring
All at the same time

The beating
of a heart against your will
The blush
of embarrassment and shame
The smile
lined with an ocean of tears
The feeling
of empty, sharp, torture, broken
Never-ending, Endless

The beating
of a content grown heart
The blush
of a woman well sated
The smile
for time ahead and family
The feeling
of calm, dreams, future, happiness
Then you see him again

The beating
of an anxious heart willing him to remember
The blush
a remembrance of youth an innocence
The smile
remembering the fullness of the kind memories
The feeling
of joy, pain, loss, grief
And he never saw any of it
