Wishes and wonder
dreams without rhyme,
cresting the waves
of crimson red seas.
Sweet songs are the winds
that billow my sails.
Prayers at last answered
shall bring me to thee.
Brilliant the sunset,
Sol takes his repose.
Riding the darkness
the Hunter* arrives.
Evening’s first breath
caressing my sense,
lit by the moon
midst a pale violet sky.
Time without you
approaching its last.
Sleepless nights gone,
no days of pretend.
Gift of the sunrise,
our desires replete.
Harpies and Sirens
of love they portend.
Waiting and wanting
roll out with the tide.
A sprinkling of stars
illuming the night.
Time ne’er more wasted,
illusion to mist.
Loves fantasy crossed
together we lie.
* Also known as "The Hunter," Orion is a delightfully distinctive arrangement of stars, usually one of the first to appear, that brightens the sky each night from December to April.
