Grandmother told me to never go into the Dark Woods at night. She told us of the demons who lurked there, waiting for passersby. I had no choice, I had to cut through in order to make it o the healer to cure these spider bites I had received from sleeping in the barn. Even now I could feel the poison rushing to my head, making me dizzy.
It was then that I saw the Red-skinned demon blocking the path. I froze in place, panicked and looked for an escape but I was encircled by these monsters from the underworld.
They moved in quickly, tugged at my dress and tore at my skin; blood dripped down my arms and calves. My only thought was of my Grandmother, who would undoubtedly search for me when I didn’t return home.
Then, they stopped attacking only to start to dissolve into acidic puddles on the forest floor. Barely able to move, I fell to the ground, exhausted from the fight and the spider bites, dying.
That’s it! The spider poison. Didn’t I read in one of Grandmothers old books that Spiders were the bane of all demons?
