Life has people running in all direction and they wonder when they will ever find time for themselves. Some people work long hours just to make ends meet. Some people who write for a living with other activities hanging over their shoulders struggle to find time to write.
A writer myself with three small children and pulmonary hypertension to manage, I often have trouble finding time to write. However, I do try to make a daily schedule of the things I want to do.
First thing in the morning, just after I get up, I do my house work and other chores that need to be done. This probably takes about an hour. Less, if there isn't much cleaning to do. After that is done, I check my email, work on my blogs, write a few articles, then I spend the rest of my time working on my project. When I do it this way, I have no excuse why I can not find time to write.
I'm a night owl anyway and I stay up quite late. By the time 3 A.M. rolls around, I'm still writing or doing research.
Nonetheless, I put in a good day of writing and I feel pretty good about it.
So how do you go about setting up a writing schedule?
The key is to get everything that ABSOLUTELY needs to be done first then spend the rest of your day writing. If you do this, you definitely won't regret it and you will be surprised by the amount of you have done just from organizing your daily schedule.
Keep reminding yourself that excuses are not acceptable.
