Ah yes. The soul of yet another comes to enter our world.  Listen to that which has been told countless times.  You may find some understanding of the wonder you’re about to enter.  Heed well, child of Obsidian…

Chapter 1:  Timelessness Lost, Two Dreamers Come Of Age

Long ago in a reality, time and place known only to those within it, there lived a thriving and omnipotent race named the Obsy.  In this land all time stood still and the Obsy knew little beyond the scope of Obsydil’s boundaries.  From afar, these powerful beings sensed infinite amounts of information but never cared to venture forth.  The landscape of Obsydil resembled that of most Utopian societies.  The Obsy made it a point to create and cultivate things for the good of all that lived there.  From it’s lush forests, plains and meadows, to the crisp air and the perfectly carved mountains, Obsydil remained a land of wonder for countless time.

Thousands of Obsy lived together in peace and harmony.  The two Obsy that deviated from the norm of life in Obsydil were Aydus and Lisin.  Daily, they both thought only of each other and of things beyond the boundaries of Obsydil.  The Dreamers of Brilliance, as society called them, sensed the energies of the stars and realized that their own powers flowed from them.  Aydus and Lisin earned that name by being seen as experts on what surrounded Obsydil. Up to this point, Aydus and Lisin spent an exponential amount of time together.  Over thousands of years they fell in love.

Per an ill-fated occurence, this Golden Age came to an abrupt halt.  The Obsy race suddenly started fading from existence.  The Obsydil Council called an emergency meeting, and took a hard look at the Vanishing Plague that befell their people.  Only Aydus, Lisin and most of the council members remained unaffected.

The council summoned the Dreamers of Brilliance to get their viewpoints on the Vanishing Plague.  After conferring with each other, they turned and faced the council.  Aydus told them that their surrounding stars were dying out.  Lisin said that she sensed with the lack of star energy flowing to Obsydil that the Obsy’s lives were coming to an end.  They also noted that this Vanishing Plague seemed to not affect them at all.  After further discussion, the council decided that Obsydil would flounder.  They formulated a plan to send the Dreamers of Brilliance away from Obsydil with the powers of all the remaining Obsy.  Their sworn mission:  Reestablish and keep the heritage of their culture alive

At the chosen time, only a handful of council members and general Obsy survived.  Aydus and Lisin stood in the middle of the council chambers, finally realizing the full brunt of their future responsibilities.  Lisin looked elegant and beautiful with long flowing starlight blue hair and shimmering starlight blue eyes sitting on her slender feminine form.  Aydus had a sculpted physique and broad shoulders perched on a handsome athletic frame.  They looked at each other lovingly knowing that their togetherness came at the expense of their race’s demise.  The council informed them of an eminent metamorphisis spawned from the strengthening of their powers.  Commanded to take hands, the council members and remaining Obsy channeled starlight blue energy.

Pure Obsy energy flowed into the couple standing at the center of the chamber.  Aydus and Lisin began to glow.  Lisin rose in the air and her transformation took place.  The energy rewove her essential structure, making her no longer her original self.  An exponentially more beautiful entity emerged.  She floated in the air still, as the energy faded away.  The council announced her as Lysinae, a goddess and Obsy Mistress.  This astounded Aydus as he too suddenly rose next to Lysinae.  The energy overtook him, provoking his own stellar transformation.  As the energy left, again a different being emerged.  He floated next to the goddess Lysinae, with the council announcing him as Aidian, a god and Obsy Master.  As Aidian and Lysinae beheld their new grandeur, they embraced each other lovingly.  The council married them on the spot.  Their celestial bond sealed forever, Aidian and Lysinae looked down at the fading council members sadly.

Chapter 2:  A New Beginning, Times Of Gold Revisited

Manifesting themselves as spirit clouds, Aidian and Lysinae, thrust themselves away from the ill-fated Obsydil.  After a long and hard trip through the boundaries, they stopped and looked back sadly from out in space.  Obsydil crumbled and faded before their very eyes.  Saying nothing to each other, they looked back no longer and flung themselves from the area as fast as they could move.  In time, they learned all they could of the universe.  The harmonies of life, time, space, energy, and matter seemed bountiful where they explored.  They learned more about star energy and befriended so many different beings of omnipotence like themselves.  After several millennia, the couple decided it was time for them to fulfill their entrusted destiny.

Selecting a spot in time and space around a beautiful bluish white star named Altair, they froze the dimension and started creating a solitary planet star system.  Taking a tenth of the extra energy that was placed within her, Lysinae channeled it into a starlight blue ball.  Aidian did the same, and combined his energy with Lysinae’s.  The couple caused their energies to swirl.  Molding and shaping the celestial mass over one hundred thousand years, it began to heat with a stellar flame and a bright blue star was born.  When the star matured, they named it Ailys after themselves.  Using Ailys’ stellar material, they created a smaller globe of energy.  This globe of energy, after a few millennia of them molding and shaping it slowly became a world that would be named Obsidian, after Obsydil.  Obsidian, just the right length from bright Ailys, was at the time just a floating rock in space.

Master Aidian and Mistress Lysinae then set about transforming Obsidian into a place abundant with life.  The only way these young Obsy knew how to make love was combining their energies.  In doing so, they transformed themselves into distinct balls of energy and became one.  They then rained their combined essences down upon Obsidian, as a starlight blue energy shower.  This action caused such a reflux of activity that the nonliving rock that Obsidian was, began to thrive with grasses, trees, and other non-sentient life of all types.  Using the energy of their love, Aidian and Lysinae produced multiple young adults that looked like and had powers similar to their own.  The new parents approved at what they created.

Chapter 3:  Six Starlights In Turn, Blossom And Learn

As time progressed, Aidian and Lysinae taught their youths, or Obsid as they affectionately called them, everything they could convey.  After five thousand years of instruction, the divine parents decided to test their Obsid offspring.  They placed the six Obsid on the newly thriving Obsidian to do as they wished.  Grateful for the chance to be independent, The Obsid went to Obsidian and lived in harmony as they were intended to.  Aidian and Lysinae decided to leave the young ones alone for one million years.  The two Obsy parents left their Obsid children, Obsidian, and Ailys to further learn more of the universe.  The Obsid sensed their parents’ departure knowing that a huge responsibility was entrusted to them.  The Obsid also kept in mind that their parents had the enormous responsibility of keeping the memory of Obsydil and the Obsy alive.

Obsidian’s first Golden Age occurred as the young adults continued to create newer and more diverse things than their parents’ initial creative influx.  The Obsid all had different mannerisms and personalities.  Their unique mentalities defined how they would be named.

Wynn was the first to mature.  She reveled in the magic and mysteries of energy that flowed within everything.  When the Obsid created mortal society, Wynn gave them science and the ability to use limited forms of the Obsid and Obsy powers that manifested and flowed from the Magical Matrix.

Divina matured after Wynn.  Keeping true to what the Obsydil culture was about, preoccupied her.  Peaceful and devout, she gave the mortals a love and fear for the heavens and the divine.  Divina too found herself strongly connected to the Magical Matrix though to a less raw degree than Wynn.

Canius was the first of the males to mature.  He took pity on the fallen mortals that lay beneath Obsidian’s earth and in the Nether Realm.  He gave fortuitous and prosperous mortals that perished, the power to walk amongst the living again.  As he did not fully understand his powers, Canius did not create these beings with the same skill as he did with the normal living.  He dubbed these beings undead, thereby heralding the evolution of Vampires and Ghosts.

Mystal matured after Canius.  She was the most fun loving and energetic of the six.  Mystal spent most of her time amongst the mortals disguised as one of them.  She gave the mortals the values of secrecy, stealth, and swift thinking.  Ultimately, her influence caused the black-market to grow and thrive.

Astea was the last female to mature and her adulthood came after Mystal.  Second only to her mother, Astea was by far the most beautiful, graceful, nature loving, and artistic of the Obsid siblings.  She loved beautiful things and every being she created was in taste and structure.  Poetic and brilliant, she gave the mortals a love of the arts and nature.  Poetry, painting, sculpting, singing, hunting, and trailblazing all grew within society because of Astea’s influence.

Siegare was the last of the Obsid to mature.  Easily the most competitive, even in jest, Siegare had a love for combat and contest.  However, when it came to said competitions or even issues of integrity, Siegare was honorable and duty-born to a fault.  He gave the mortals a sense of ambition, competition, and the more stature advancing traits of society.  Siegare always stressed honor within combat when it came to the mortals he oversaw.

Three hundred thousand years had passed since Aidian and Lysinae set out into the universe to find more knowledge.  Obsidian’s vibrant Golden Age still dominated day to day life on the planet.  Up until this point, the Obsid were able to solve all mortal tribulations.  One day, a human named Fornax came to Siegare and asked a most peculiar and pivotal question.

Fornax walked to Siegare who was in the fields magically tailoring some armor to be found by some lucky mortal.  Fornax bowed before Siegare and greeted him.  Siegare turned with a smile from his work and gave Fornax his attention.  Fornax asked, “Lord Siegare, why am I not like you in the type of power I have?”  The question, sending Siegare for a mental loop, was puzzling as he had no rational explanation to give as an answer.  He told Fornax to wait so he could inquire to his eldest sister Wynn.  Siegare returned to the heavens to approach Wynn with the question.

Wynn was beside herself for she had no answer to give.  She became quite preoccupied with it, as there was no literal thought in her head to justify why the mortals were not immortal like the Obsid.  Wynn summoned the rest of her siblings and put the query to them all.  None of them could think of a reason, so they each selected a few races and made the whole population of Obsidian immortal.  Divina, who could not place her finger on it at the time, figured that their actions might be a mistake.  She quickly found out that she was right.

Chapter 4:  A Fall Of Peace, Darkness Within The Midst Of The Light

Shortly after the whole of Obsidian was immortal, power struggles and wars broke out amongst the heavens and on Obsidian itself.  Obsidian’s starlight blue aura changed to a dense sable.  Having created so many and having made them all immortal, the Obsid were quickly overwhelmed.  The divine siblings failed in undoing their actions.  They had not studied their powers long enough to know exactly how to rectify their own folly.

Another three hundred thousand years passed.  Six hundred thousand years total since Lysinae and Aidian left the Obsid, the wars settled down from a combined Obsid effort.  Tired and weary from policing Obsidian’s people, the siblings drew away from the world to rest in the star Ailys.  Before settling inside of Ailys for the Great Respite as deemed by history, the Obsid brothers and sisters formed an impenetrable barrier around Obsidian.  Satisfied yet exhausted, the Obsid fell into a deep slumber inside Ailys.

The one millionth year of their departure finally came and Lysinae, reminded her husband that it was time to return to Obsidian.  The loving parents hastened back to show their children the wealth of knowledge and experiences that they had acquired.  Upon arriving at Obsidian, the terrible scene horrified them.  Lysinae and Aidian dissipated the barrier and went to their world to find that the aura was now black with war and hard times now upon it.

The world had divided into different realms and there were seven Noble Houses.  Six of these dedicated one each to an Obsid sibling.  The last and most pure bloodline dedicated themselves to the divine mother and father.  Having witnessed enough and becoming saddened, Lysinae and Aidian undid the immortality granted to the population.  Sensing the whereabouts of the Obsid, went to Ailys to awaken them and get an explanation.

The Obsid had been asleep now for four hundred thousand years, and when their parents awakened them, the six young adults had only the truth to tell their parents.  Blaming themselves, Aidian and Lysinae knew what they had to do.  Before it took place though, they answered the question that Fornax asked so long ago.  Lysinae said, “The reason why they were not immortal is because of the way you created them.  We used the energy of our love to create you.  You created the mortals from the materials that are there on Obsidian.”  The children gave their parents their total undivided attention.  Aidian continued with the explanation saying, “By using such materials, their lives manifested as being mortal.  The very nature of such material no longer carries the starlight attribute that grants us our immortality.  To them we are gods and goddesses as it should be.”  All Obsid nodding and fully understanding, decrees by their parents would shape the development of the future.

Aidian and Lysinae spoke in unison for a long while and they ruled that a separation had occurred amongst the Obsid and the world population below.  They also conveyed that every one of the immortal family must go about restoring Obsidian to another Golden Age.  Aidian and Lysinae spoke about time and exponential efforts would eventually bring about another Golden Age.  They further went on that for everything to stay balanced that a light and dark separation must occur amongst the immortals.  It was decided that Lysinae would over see the Dawn and the Light and that Aidian would over see the Twilight and Darkness.  They each looked over their children and after careful consideration, chose three each to help fulfill the tasks of their respective themes.

Lysinae, Obsy Mistress of the Dawn, Life, and Wrath, chose Wynn, Divina, and Astea.  In turn, she identified them as:
Wynn, Mistress and Lady of the Magical Matrix, Knowledge, and Time.
Divina, Mistress and Lady of Tranquility, True Faith, and Justice.
Astea, Mistress and Lady of the Arts, Love, Nature, Beauty and the Hunt.

Aidian, Obsy Master of the Twilight, Death, and Mercy, chose Mystal, Canius, and Siegare.  In turn, he identified them as:
Mystal, Mistress and Lady of the Shadow, Revelry, Stealth, and Theft.
Canius, Master and Lord of the Spirit, and Rebirth
Siegare, Master and Lord of War, Vengeance, Honor, and Duty.

The divine siblings harbored other responsibilities in their divine portfolios to oversee, and purify over time.  Lysinae and Aidian thought for a time, and came to the conclusion that one more child was needed to oversee the unbridled forces of probability.  They dismissed their present offspring and combined their energies once more.  The divine parents tended to other matters while they gave the resulting life-force time to coalesce and develop.

Chapter 6:  Houses Arisen, Obsidian Divided For The Future

Aidian and Lysinae decreed that the Obsid were not to walk the planet as plainly as they did in the past.  The mortals found to even call on a deity without a worthy cause could spell doom for foolish.  With their immortality revoked, the mortals drew away in fear to their lands.  The next few hundred years passed peacefully with noble Houses being arose within massive estates  The sects of each noble House acted as true families settling under seven unique names and creeds. Out of respect for their gifted immortality, six noble Houses named themselves after the Obsid that ascended them so long ago.  The final and most prestigious House, named themselves for the divine mother and father.

House Wynd was named for Wynn.  House Divinia was named for Divina.  House Caine was named for Canius.  House Myst was named for Mystal.  House Astea was named for Astea.  House Siege was named for Siegare.  Lastly but certainly not least, House Ailys was named for both Aidian and Lysinae.  Each of the House’s family members took on the mentalities and attributes that followed with the portfolios of their respective House’s namesake.

You might be wondering what happened with Fornax.  Of all the mortals that were ascended, Fornax was the solitary individual allowed to elude Lysinae and Aidian’s purging touch.  He is seen every now and then from time to time, granting wishes of evil descent.  The divine mother and father collectively identified Fornax as Master and Lord of Despair, Lust, Deceit, Pain, Greed and Lies.  Furthermore, Fornax’s limitations were not as numerous as was imposed on the Obsid.  Fornax keeps his work to disrupting the Noble Houses, causing oppression amongst the vast amounts of mortals that loathe him, and trying to drive wedges between the Obsid.  It is believed that Fornax is so resolute in the latter, because Aidian and Lysinae denied him the honor of dwelling in Heaven.

Fornax set about bringing forth creatures to plague the lands and the peoples of Obsidian.  With his abilities and influence not hampered like theirs, the Obsid granted each noble bloodline a hereditary trait that would help them in times of need against Fornax’s mounting forces.

Lady Wynn finding favor in those of House Wynd, infused their bloodline with her essence and gave them her Wrath.  Lady Divina finding favor in those of House Divinia, infused their bloodline with her essence and gave them her Blessing.  Lord Canius finding favor in those of House Caine, infused their bloodline with his essence and gave them his Siphon.  Lady Mystal finding favor in those of House Myst, infused their bloodline with her essence and gave them her Retort.  Lady Astea finding favor in those of House Astea, infused their bloodline with her essence and gave them her Gift.  Lord Siegare finding favor in those of House Siege, infused their bloodline with his essence and gave them his Shield.  Aidian and Lysinae finding favor in those of House Ailys, infused that bloodline with a fraction of their essences and gave them an ethereal Kiss.  Lysinae and Aidian then took all that was given and crossed the gifts with time and space so that all future generations would carry these skills in their blood.

The divine parents soon brought their newest maturing offspring into the world.  The Obsid deity was neutral in every way, having no specific gender.  They named the being Null.  After educating Null on the situation, it was determined that neither Lysinae nor Aidian would claim Null.  Instead, Null was kept neutral and mutually identified as Master and Lord of Balance, and Chaos.  Null was also named Mistress and Lady of Fate, and Destiny.  Though Null was the youngest of the Obsid, Null answered only to Lysinae and Aidian.  Null’s unique trait was that sometimes he appeared male, and others she appeared female.

Chapter 7:  A Parting Kiss, The Lines Drawn

Aidian finding everything sufficient kissed Lysinae, and she instantly knew what he said with it.  With the separation of everything, there had to occur a separation amongst the true heavens and the surface of Obsidian.  Aidian tore the very fabric of existence.  Setting the heavens above and the mortal Obsidian below, Aidian created an area in the Nether Realm that he could occupy to monitor all that he created.  In a violent flash the divine father burst into starlight blue flames vanished, bound for the Nether Realm.  Lysinae did the same to herself, however she created such a place in the star Ailys.  In retrospect, the Obsid recognized this as their second chance to establish a Golden Age.  It was their turn now to gain it and keep it.

Before allowing their offspring to oversee Obsidian again, the Obsy parents looked over the Obsid and told them that further changes amongst the divine were at hand.  Lysinae and Aidian touched hands and became new entities known as Divine Spirits.  They created three more Divine races that the Obsid could choose from and assimilate.  After much discussion, the Obsid finalized what they would change to.  Wynn and Siegare’s essences being of the elements and being in tune with one another chose to be of the Divine Elemental race.  Divina and Astea’s essences being of faith and nature became of the Divine Angel race.  Canius and Mystal’s essences being of death and shadow became of the Divine Dragon race.  In the process it was decided that Fornax would be of the Divine Dragon race as well.  It happened via a combined effort of all the Obsid.  Null took the form of the Divine Spirit race like Lysinae and Aidian.

Now we are brought to the day of your birth.  Perhaps your spirit will sit with us a while longer.  There is so much that has happened in the millions of years since fall of the Golden Age.  While it is true that you will remember nothing of what shall be spoken here, at least for a brief moment you can appreciate all that has happened to bring about the world that you are soon to enter.  Being the mother and father of creation here does afford a certain level of divine right.  Now, witness the evolution of this place through the eyes of the Obsid.  It is an interesting story; a story of which whose future you are an intricate part.  We shall start with the events that evolved Wynn’s portfolio.  Once again, listen well, child of Obsidian…
