A Present from Paradise
He is deeply in love with her, but is scared to let her know.

Miles away from civilization,
free from the clouds of dust and smoke,
in this serene countryside,
lie two souls under the skies,
watching stars awake from their slumber
and the moon rising up slow,
with the sweet music of an effervescent stream
gushing and whistling nearby.

He is deeply in love with her
and decides to tell her once and for all,
but is quick to kill those words
as soon as they land on his lips
for he is trapped in two minds.

Off he tries once again,
this time he almost says it
but backs out well within time.

The fear of losing a friend in her
lurks heavily inside him.
What if she thinks otherwise?

"No matter what she feels for me--"
"--I'll love her like this forever" he says,
as tears start to run down his cheeks.

Then amidst the hide and seek of the stars
a meteor appears from nowhere,
nose diving straight from the heavens,
blazing along its steep trail, until
it disappears behind the horizon.

That scares him for a moment.
Will his dreams end up in flames?
Smothered to death before they are born?
Still he closes his eyes to make a wish,
wondering if gods would ever hear his heart.

As the night falls and frost grips the air
and while he is lost in the beauty of the stars,
he senses a whisper in his ears.

"I know you love me a lot"--she locks her eyes on to his--
"and I feel the same for you.
May I have you for a lifetime?"

In a flash the world seems so different,
he makes sure it's not a dream
for he can see a smile etched across the sky.

He looks at her awe-stricken,
not a ripple lies on her calm face
and before he can realize he finds a kiss
perfectly planted between his eyes.

Swiftly, he draws her into his arms
and whispers those words
he wished to say since long.
She nods, as they curl up yet closer.

The moon is shining at them like never before,
blessing their hearts with its pristine glow.
A fairy tale has been scripted.
May this be just the beginning.
