The more I think of it, the more I struggle with the contest format. The traditional singling out of first, second and third places fails to capture the essence of a portrait in progress. Omitted stories leave sections of the canvas blank; an incomplete work of art. Anomalies should be embraced. Perhaps a bit of a stretch, but what if we repackage the contest into a narrative photo album? A picture equals a thousand words? In a way it fulfills CanU's preference to photo submissions. I think Lg might bite.
