I pitched the theme change to LG in reception. I posed an emotional appeal, a noble plea to revive her original aspirations of a career in writing. I urged her not to forget that our mutual background is journalism, not photography and to never turn her back on the passion of putting pen to paper.  As a team, our investigation into what inspires the average citizen, instigated a literary aberration. (A little hyperbole never hurts.)

I sense a National Newspaper Award for this ... at minimum, a spike in circulation.

Think it went well. Her parking spot never came up once.

She contemplates the idea's merit. So again, I wait. Tick. Tock.

She wants merit? How about micro fictions (under 300 words), flash fictions (300 to 500 words), short shorts (500 to 1000 words), short stories (1000 to 17500 words), novellas (17500 to 25000 words) and screenplays. Form also tests the gamut with satirical articles, fictitious letters, advertising copy, plots driven by conflict and vignettes based on character and relationship development.  How's that for merit? Ha! :o)
