Dress Me Pretty

So many notes she had written,
everything was just as planned.
The quaint little church filled with lilies,
the same flowers in her hands.

Her thick black hair set perfect,
ringlets fell around her face.
Her dress exactly as she wanted,
antique Victorian black lace.

Whilst everyone around her cried,
she remained perfectly composed.
‘Dress me pretty at my funeral’;
the last note she ever wrote.
