Trepidation
Something must end in order for something to begin.

Trepidation

She lay there
for a brief time,
on a bed of grass so thick and green.
Breathtaking, emerald luminescence;
the hour of twilight yet unseen.

She lay there contemplating
the transient nature of happiness.
Nothing lasts forever,
even the most beautiful day must end.

She lay there quietly weeping,
darkness had crept upon her day.
And with it all her hopes and dreams
viciously taken away.

Full of trepidation,
she lay deep within the abyss.
Her eyes open with unsure expectation;
if it came.....
the breaking dawn she would not miss.
