I've seen the beast.. he'd track his prey.
I saw him stalking day by day. Iron jaws in search of flesh. Into his plans his foe.. well mesh. With blind faith I lead them on. There trust bestowed in.. me... another's pawn. Valiantly we raise our guns. All the while... our blood runs. Blood falls by concealed tooth. Newly drawn... descending youth. Our sons.. let out a cry of pain. The beast lays plans.. to strike again. Relentlessly they fall. With mournful heart I watch them all. Minds gone to waste I know. Yet.. when they call again I'll go. I had a dream.. the other day. This dream felt real.. but far away. Composed of love and awesome joy. The kind you have..... when you're a boy. Religious wars were not the same. For this change.. we'd take the blame. No more loss... no more pain. I saw my father once again. We'd never fight on foreign soil. Laying down arms.. instead... used them.. to embrace. A world devoid of turmoil. A loving.. human race.
