Sharon’s Blessing It wasn’t anywhere close to Thanksgiving when the angels came for Sharon, my partner. I sat on the edge of her sickbed as we shared our happiness and our gratitude for the years we had together. And I shall recite to everyone forever the blessing she said to me just hours before she died. It is always at the top of my Thanksgiving-wishes list. Sharon touched her soft palm to my cheek and said, May you always have the reasons and the ability to be thankful. 86 words.
