Julia got up to change the channel. Her brother sat in front of the television, holding his tattered monster doll. Since he wouldn’t lift a finger to help, Julia walked around and blocked his view on purpose.

“Hey!” He yelled, and started beating her legs with his monster.

“Ooh, big bad monster attack,” she teased, “I’m so scared, Billy.”

Suddenly a green reptilian hand reached out of the television and grabbed Julia. Billy saw it come right out of the screen. Blood sprayed across his face as giant claws ripped through Julia’s leg and tightened around her ankle. The children shrieked. Billy tried to hold onto her flailing arms as it pulled her in. Her legs and torso disappeared. The rest followed, writhing in agony. Billy watched wide-eyed and horrified as Julia gurgled. Blood leaked from her mouth, and after a final twitch, she was gone.

Billy sat in shock and stared at the television. He was shaking. Suddenly the bloody claw exploded from the screen and grabbed him. It tore into his skin. He thrashed and screamed, but it was pulling him in too. Then he remembered his secret weapon. He reached for his monster doll, and started hitting.
